Finishing touches

Working on the finishing touches.  Installing the last light fixtures, connecting the garbage disposal, installing closet systems, and yes...more touch up painting.

Upon connecting the garbage disposal, I realized the kitchen sink was leaking.  No I did not cause the leak...

Carpet!

Concrete, Plumbing, and Appliances

We're about two weeks out.  Concrete is poured, appliances are installed, plumbing is about finished, and there is endless amount of touch up painting, sanding, and finishing.

Kitchen is almost done.  Just need to install the hood and pendant lights.

 

We're staining the front door.  The other doors from the old house will be used in some form inside or out of the new house (headboards for a bed, outdoor tables, benches, etc).

The final stretch

The Tamayo's are spending the long weekend painting trim, installing electrical fixtures, and fixing stuff.  In the next three weeks we should have carpet, appliances, countertops, toilets, sinks, showers, and all other finish work complete.

One of my favorite things in the house is the kitchen island with the fir floors from our old house attached to it.

Cabinets were delivered and installed a few weeks ago.

They came in an assortment from the truck.  I decided to have a beer with lunch on the floor.

We took the day to paint some bedrooms.  Layla put in some sweat equity painting her room purple!

Flooring and Erosion Control

Hardwood and tile flooring have started.  Woodchips are being spread out for erosion control.  The more Gemma and I work on the weekends, the faster we get to move in.
